Christopher Bavitz
WilmerHale Clinical Professor of Law; vice dean for experiential and clinical education
Harvard Law School’s Christopher T. Bavitz, the WilmerHale Clinical Professor of Law, was appointed vice dean for experiential and clinical education. Bavitz, an expert in intellectual property, media, and technology law, is also the managing director of the Cyberlaw Clinic, and a faculty co-director of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society.
Maureen E. ‘Molly’ Brady
Professor of law
Maureen E. “Molly” Brady, an expert in property law, was named a professor of law. Brady, whose scholarship focuses on land use law, local government law, legal history and intellectual property law, joined the Harvard Law School faculty as assistant professor of law in 2019.
Guy-Uriel Charles
Inaugural Charles J. Ogletree, Jr. Professor of Law
Guy-Uriel Charles, an expert in constitutional law, election law, campaign finance, redistricting, and politics and race, joined the Harvard Law faculty as the inaugural Charles J. Ogletree, Jr. Professor of Law. He also serves as faculty director of Harvard Law School’s Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice.
Ruth Greenwood
Visiting assistant professor of law; director of the Election Law Clinic
Ruth Greenwood, who joined HLS in January 2020 as a lecturer in law and launched the Voting Rights Litigation and Advocacy externship clinic, now directs the expanded in-house Election Law Clinic.
Sheila Heen
Thaddeus R. Beal Professor of Practice
Sheila Heen ’93, negotiation expert and trainer, was appointed professor of practice at Harvard Law School. She has been a lecturer on law at HLS since 1995.
Christopher Lewis
Assistant professor of law
Christopher Lewis, a political philosopher and scholar of the criminal legal system, was named an assistant professor of law at Harvard Law School. Lewis’s research explores how law, particularly criminal law, can be more fairly administered in response to social and economic inequality in the United States.
Joshua McDaniel
Director, Religious Freedom Clinic
Joshua C. McDaniel was appointed a visiting assistant clinical professor and named director of the Religious Freedom Clinic. McDaniel, who served as a staff attorney in the clinic during the Fall Term 2020, brings almost a decade of experience as a practicing lawyer as well as deep expertise in law and religion cases.
Stephen E. Sachs
Inaugural Antonin Scalia Professor of Law
Stephen E. Sachs, a leading scholar of civil procedure and constitutional law, joined the faculty of Harvard Law School as the inaugural Antonin Scalia Professor of Law. Sachs researches a range of subjects including the law and theory of constitutional interpretation, the jurisdiction of state and federal courts, and the role of the general common law in the U.S. legal system.
Rachel Viscomi
Clinical professor of law; director of the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program
Rachel A. Viscomi ’01 was appointed clinical professor of law at Harvard Law School. Viscomi, who was appointed director of the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program (HNMCP) in 2018, was most recently an assistant clinical professor of law.
