Harvard Law School Professor Lucian Bebchuk LL.M. ’80 S.J.D. ‘84, director of the Program on Corporate Governance, was selected as one of 2010’s top 10 “governance stars” by Global Proxy Watch, an international corporate governance newsletter.

The list, announced Dec. 21 by the HLS Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation, highlights the “10 people around the world who had the most impact on corporate governance in the previous year.” Bebchuk was commended for his “world-class studies.”

Other members of the list include U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd and U.S. Rep. Barney Frank ’77, who led passage of the landmark Dodd-Frank financial reform law in July 2010; Mary Schapiro, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, who serves as a guest contributor to HLS’s Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation; and Stephen Haddrill, chief executive of the United Kingdom’s Financial Reporting Council.
