On Tuesday, July 24, Harvard Law School Professor Lawrence Lessig testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Human Rights at a hearing titled “Taking Back Our Democracy: Responding to Citizens United and the Rise of Super PACs.” (View a PDF of Lessig’s testimony here.)

Lessig is the director of Harvard University’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics and the author of Republic, Lost: How Money Corrupts Congress—and a Plan to Stop It (2011), which advocates for a convention to address what he calls the corrupting influence of money and special interests in Congress.
